Insurance Policy Administration Process Flow

The first step in the insurance policy administration process flow is to collect information on the customer. After reviewing the information provided by the customer, they must fill out a more detailed application. This step binds the customer to the policy, so the carrier may include a list of underwriting questions that follow a logic of "if/then." For example, the carrier may include a question asking "does your home lack heating?"

Another step in the process is to integrate the PAS with enterprise content packs (ECPs). Ideally, the PAS will be an integrated system, with the same data in all places. By doing so, the administrator can ensure that the data is accurate and increase productivity. Once this is complete, the customer can review the policy and sign it. If the policy administrator is unsure of what needs to be done next, the software can automatically generate a quote.

The process flow in the insurance industry involves many different stakeholders: administrative workers, insurers, brokers, and residual structures. The insurance industry is comprised of companies in western Europe and North America. It also requires modern technology products, standard software, and a competitive advantage plan. Insurers also have to pay insurance agents, train them, and maintain their databases. Once implemented, the insurance policy administration process flow should be streamlined for both the insurer and the customer.

The IPS helps insurers identify common processes across their various core insurance administration systems and automate those processes that are not automated. The resulting model forces insurers to reconsider their strategic vision and define their core insurance administration solutions in a vertical/silo manner. With this new approach, insurers can respond faster to customer demands, market shifts, and regulatory requirements. There is no better time than now to implement process management. So, go ahead and implement it today.
